For The Working Parents During The Holidays

Q: Why do seagulls fly ovet the sea?

A: If they flew over the bay, they would be bagels

........................

If I made you now want a bagel then I am sorry

But it's ok

You can go get one

........................

Our sitters family have covid so we have had no child care this week. So between my wife and I we have been juggling camps, childcare, gymnastics, swimming and work.

During these times in the past I have often really struggled. I try to do a great job at home and a great job with the kids and invariably I end the day feeling tired, sad, and that I have done an at best average job of both.

Doing average in everything doesn't make me feel great!

So this weeks post is short, sweet and to the point... kind of like my wife :)

Parenting is hard

Working any job is hard

Being a working parent is extremely hard

If you are struggling to balance work, life and your kids schedules and care during these summer holidays then know that you are doing a better job than you think, and I am sure you are still making fun memories that your kids will cherish.

Give yourself a break both mentally and physically.

And know that you are not alone with the struggle!

Hang on in there... they will be back to school soon!

Cheering you on as always

Dan

HEY, I’M DAN…

I know how exhausting and overwhelming it can be to work full time in a job that doesn't fulfill you. Then to arrive home sad and mentally exhausted.

Your kids really excited because daddy is home! and they want to tell you all about their day and play with you.

But you are so beaten down that you just can't give them the same excitement, or your full attention. Your mind is full of doubts and fears.

As hard as it may feel right now, there is a path from where you are today to becoming the dad who arrives home feeling fulfilled instead of frustrated.

I know because I have been where you are, and I can show you the way.

As a dad, husband, full time employee and a certified coach, I have helped dads just like you to identify careers that allow them to wake up excited to make a difference, to arrive home ready for toys and tantrums, and to go to your kids sports games fully present and enjoying it.
