We went out for dinner with friends during our trip to Niagara Falls.
Big table. Laughs. Tacos. Quesadillas. Kids knocking sauces everywhere.
And me?
I sat there with a glass of Sprite.
Still recovering from a stomach bug. Couldn’t eat a thing. Just smiled, sipped my drink, and tried to ignore the fact that I was missing out.
Here’s the thing:
No one made me feel left out.
But I still felt it.
Because I wanted to be in it… but I couldn’t.
It made me think about something I see all the time in my coaching.
People sitting at the table - at work, at home, in their life - while everyone else seems to be thriving.
Moving forward.
Enjoying the career.
Living with clarity.
And they’re just… getting through the day.
Trying not to make it worse.
Sipping their metaphorical Sprite.
But it doesn’t have to stay like that.
Sometimes all it takes is one good question or one outside perspective to get you back in the game.
If you’re feeling like you’re stuck on the sidelines, just trying to survive the work week, I’ve got something that can help.
